22.8.18

Minutes from the May meetings of HCDSG, FMESG & PaGDSG, and June meetings of FMESG and CSB are now online.

Pathways and Guidelines Development Subgroup (PaGDSG)

22.8.18

The information leaflet supporting primary care clinicians in the use of sacubitril/valsartan (Entresto), following specialist initiation, has been updated and is now available to download.

Following GM-wide consultation, the following shared care protocols have been approved and are online now:

  • sulfasalazine for inflammatory bowel disease (new)
  • domperidone for paediatric GORD (updated)
  • disulfiram for treatment of alcohol dependence (updated)

8.8.18

On behalf of the GMMMG Pathways and Guidelines Development Subgroup, Greater Manchester-wide Shared Care Protocols for Hydroxychloroquine in Rheumatology and Hydroxychloroquine in Dermatology have been updated . We now seek the comments on these drafts. The consultation periods are open until 5pm on Thursday 6th September 2018. Please see our Consultations page for full details.

Formulary and Managed Entry Subgroup (FMESG)

22.8.18

The DNP/Grey drugs have been incorporated into the GM formulary, for ease of use. Formulary chapters now clearly highlight DNP/Grey items, give rationale for the positioning of these items, and provide links back to the RAG/DNP list.

Ciprofloxacin ear drop (Cetraxal) have been added to formulary in chapter 12 for treatment of otitis externa due to proven Pseudomonas infection

The reviewed and updated GM Antimicrobial Guidelines are now available on the GMMMG website.

6.8.18

The following actions were proposed at the July 2018 FMESG meeting and have been sent to CSB for pre-approval. We now seek comments on these proposals. This consultation period is open until 5pm Monday 17th September 2018
