Formulary and Managed Entry Subgroup (FMESG)

26.7.19

Following GM-wide consultation, the following actions from FMESG have been published. Changes include:

  • Ertogluflozin added to formulary as an alternative treatment option, in line with NICE TA572. This positioning will be reviewed once cardiovascular outcome data become available.
  • Certolizumab pegol and tildrakizumab have been added to formulary in chapter 13, as red drugs for treatment of psoriasis, in line with NICE TAs 574 and 575.
  • Dexamfetamine has been added to formulary as a red drug for treatment of narcolepsy, pending development of a shared care protocol. The RAG status will be updated to amber once the SCP is available.
  • Glycopyrronium oral solution has been added to the paediatric RAG list for treatment of severe sialorrhea. Prescribers should choose the product with the lowest acquisition cost and taking into account shelf-life of the product where appropriate.
  • Cost charts for insulins and insulin needles have been updated.
  • Information has been added on weekly GLP-1 receptor mimetics, to highlight variation between medicines in number of doses per pen.
  • The formulary has been updated to reflect NICE clinical guidelines covering urinary incontinence in women, stroke and TIA in over 16s, and ectopic pregnancy & miscarriage.

Please note that a formulary and RAG list change log is now available from the GM formulary page. The change log will be updated monthly to reflect updates to the formulary and RAG/DNP lists.
