CRG actions January 2025
On behalf of the GMMMG Clinical Reference Group, we now seek comments on the actions proposed at the January 2025 CRG meeting. Actions in this consultation include:
- Bevacizumab gamma – red
- Ublituximab for relapsing-remitting MS – red
- Tirzepatide for overweight and obesity – red – interim status until NHSE commissioning policy is published and more detail is available on ICB weight management strategy
- Terbutaline and salbutamol nebuliser solutions for asthma – green (specialist initiation)
- Spacers for use with MDIs – green
- Nicorandil for stable angina – green
- Ranolazine – green (specialist advice)
- Alfacalcidol – green (specialist initiation)
- Lanthanum for hyperphosphataemia – red for dialysis patients, green (specialist initiation) for non-dialysis patients
- The following medicines have been discontinued and will be removed from formulary:
- Insulatard® (isophane insulin, human) Penfill® 100units/ml suspension for injection 3ml cartridges
- Povidone iodine sprays: 1.14% (Savlon Dry) and 2.5% (Betadine)
- Polymixin / bacitracin ointment (Polyfax) ointment
- Selenium sulfide shampoo (Selsun)
- Coal tar shampoo with allantoin (Alphosyl)
- Coal tar liquid (Polytar). Polytar 4% shampoo remains available
- Fluticasone nebules (Flixotide)
- Follitropin beta and eptotermin alfa

Psoriasis and atopic dermatitis: interim commissioning statement
The previous High Cost Drugs Pathway for Psoriasis was removed from the GMMMG site when it passed its review date. This interim commissioning statement outlines the treatment options, criteria for use, and criteria for tertiary referral. A full pathway review will be undertaken in due course.
